Therapy at Beyond the Clinic Room
Beyond the Clinic Room offers therapy for people who are feeling stuck in their lives, feeling held back by their beliefs or lack of confidence, and looking to make changes towards a life that feels in line with their hopes and values.
We specialise in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and use this for a range of issues, including trauma, low mood and anxiety. EMDR is also highly beneficial for personal growth work; building confidence and taking steps forward with courage.
Animal Assisted Therapy
Canine and equine assisted therapy, for the therapeutic power of animals alongside evidence based therapy.
Intensive therapy for faster healing.
Available as canine assisted, equine assisted or online.

Therapy Process
Step One: Make contact.
Fill out our contact form. We try to update our availability on our website as much as possible. If we have capacity and feel potentially the right service to support, we will contact you to book an initial therapy consultation.
Step Two: Initial therapy consultation.
We have a consultation together focusing on: your life and history, your difficulties, strengths and resources, your goals and hopes for therapy. This usually takes between one and two sessions, and allows us to decide if therapy with Beyond the Clinic Room feels the right fit and if so, what therapy could look like. If it does not feel that Beyond the Clinic Room will be able to offer support, we will be clear and upfront about this, and can offer suggestions for alternatives. (Please note, offering an initial therapy consultation does not mean we will offer a therapeutic intervention).
Step Three: Starting therapy.
If we decide to move forward with therapy, we can develop a shared therapy plan, based on the therapy approach we choose and your goals. At Beyond the Clinic Room we offer a focused intervention of around 12-18 weekly sessions, or intensive intervention over a short period. Weekly sessions are booked in six session blocks, with a review at the end of each block to check that therapy still feels helpful and effective.
Step Four: Moving forward.
As we approach the end of our therapy we plan how to support you moving forward.
