I have been working in the NHS within mental health for over 10 years, and have completed a clinical doctorate which allows me to practice as a Clinical Psychologist.
I have specialised in working with people who have experienced trauma and loss, and helping therapy feel a safe space.
I have significant experience in working with looked after young people, and young people who have experienced developmental trauma.
My specialist therapeutic training includes Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Animal Assisted Therapy. My aim is to use these therapies flexibly in a way that feels the right fit for each person.
I am experienced in integrating Animal Assisted Therapy into my practice, in a way that ensures the high level of skills and specialism of a Clinical Psychologist.
Alongside running Beyond the Clinic Room, I am also a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS, where I work alongside Therapy Dog Jara. I also act as an expert witness for family court, completing psychological assessments for adolescents who are at risk, and have complex mental health difficulties.
