About me

I am Dr Charis, a Clinical Psychologist specialising in using EMDR to understand how the past shows up in the present, and finding ways to move forward. I specialise in working with people who have been through traumatic and difficult experiences.

I have been a qualified Clinical Psychologist for 6 years, and have worked in mental health in the NHS for 12 years. Becoming a Clinical Psychologist takes on average around 8 years and includes completing a doctorate in the NHS. Clinical Psychologist is a protected title, and can only be used by those registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

I am passionate about integrating Animal Assisted Therapy into my practice, in a way that partners both the high level of skills and specialism of a Clinical Psychologist alongside the therapeutic power of animals.
